Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, The Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco), an operating company under the umbrella of Bapco Energies, has won an International Safety Award with Distinction from the British Safety Council in recognition of its commitment to the safety and wellbeing of its workforce throughout 2022.
On receiving the award, Mr. Abdulla Jehad Al Zain, Bapco Chairman, paid tribute to the Board of Directors and the approved policies and procedures that have been adopted in setting the best standards of occupational health and safety at the Company's premises and operational facilities. Mr. Al Zain also acknowledged the tremendous effort exerted by everyone at Bapco to adhere to the occupational health and safety policies and procedures.
Bapco’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery, received a delegation from the British Safety Council headed by Mr. Phil Pinnington, Head of Audit and Consultancy and Mr. Nusrat Khan, Strategic Account Manager (UK and International). Dr. Jawahery welcomed the guests and praised the vital role of the British Safety Council in establishing high occupational safety standards.
Dr. Jawahery also expressed the great sense of pride this achievement has generated within the Company. He took the opportunity to congratulate all Bapco employees and affiliated contractors, particularly the Board of Directors under the chairmanship of Mr. Abdulla Jehad Al Zain.
The British Safety Council delegation congratulated Bapco on its success in winning the International Safety Award with a Distinction and the “Best in Country” award in recognition of its commitment to zero harm at the workplace to ensure the safety of its employees and contractors.
Bapco is one of the few organizations in the world to be awarded a Distinction in the International Safety Awards in 2023. Bapco also won the Best in Country Award which recognizes the highest scoring and overall best application in Bahrain for an international safety award. The award presentation was held recently in London in the presence of Bapco’s Acting Deputy Chief Executive Human Resources and Corporate Services, and Chief Financial Officer, Ms. Afaf Zainalabedin, Dr. Ismaeel Husain, Manager Process Safety and Ms. Zahra AlMansoor, Process Safety Engineer.
