Job Purpose

Provides mechanical engineer support to Gas Distribution Network, Gas Sales and Maintenance Departments in maximizing gas network asset utilization.  Trouble shoots the problems in above areas. Develops, Manage and implement capital expenditure projects related to above areas.

Job Description

1. Resource Management: Checks progress and give guidance to support engineers, designers and field supervisors to ensure that all projects assigned are completed on time and within budget.

2. Quality Control/Assurance: Responsible for high quality engineering outputs. Maintains integrity of engineering documentation by ensuring that all relevant company standards are followed.

3. Cross Functional Activities: Provides engineering inputs for planning and execution of Gas Distribution Network T&Is, supports other engineering section project engineers in implementation of their projects.

4. Project Management/Engineering: Develops, manages and implements justifiable projects after obtaining Company approvals. Prepares detailed specifications and designs in accordance with the relevant industry codes and company standards. Purchases systems and equipment and finalize Contracts in projects.

5. Engineering Support: Completes investigations of problem assigned by Senior Mechanical Engineer and provides cost estimates for the implementation of solutions. Provides approved engineering drawings to carry out essential repairs. Provides specifications to Maintenance Department to purchase replacement equipment.

6. Safety Management: Participates in Management of Change review teams and HAZOP studies to ensure safe working and operating conditions in the plant.

Job Requirement

1. University degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.

2. Some experience in project management in Oil and Gas or Petrochemical industries.

3. Some experience in handling multiple projects and providing engineering support in an operating refinery environment.

4. Some knowledge of American and British Design Codes and Standards covering design of equipment and systems and its installation.

5. Shall be generally proficient with personal computing and have a good appreciation of common software such as Microsoft Suite.

6. Must have the ability to write clear and concise reports, letters, proposals and memoranda.

7. Positive attitude, Good interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written.
