Bapco is a CSR pioneer in Bahrain, contributing millions of dollars annually in supporting a multitude of projects, sporting events, educational schemes and business events.
This has included a regular Gold sponsorship of the Crown Prince’s International Scholarship Programme (CPISP), the Bapco Scholars Enhanced Learning (BASEL) programme and Injaz Bahrain, a national activity-based programme which instills vital life skills in Bahrainis.
Bapco also provides year-round industrial training internships in its many departments to high school and university students. In the past year, a total of 229 university and technical students benefitted greatly from placements with the company, which allowed them to gain valuable work experience.
The company’s overseas graduate scholarships programme has been expanded to include mechanical engineering, systems control engineering, and accounting and finance disciplines.
Bapco also fuels a sport-charged nation, with the sponsorship of the hugely successful Formula One Bahrain Grand Prix, Bahrain International Air Show (BIAS) and the Khaleeji 21 football tournament, among others.
Bapco is also considered a leading regional EHS champion, contributing to the betterment of the environment both in the Gulf as well as in the wider community. The national oil and gas pioneer has spurred various notable achievements in the betterment of the environment as well as propagating and inspiring the public to practise safety and take necessary health precautions as part of their lifestyles, encouraging them to incorporate these values and disciplines as part of their daily lives.
Bapco also regularly organises the vastly popular EHS week and Family Day, which serve as a national awareness campaign about Environment, Health and Safety issues at work and at home.
