Extensive studies are carried out to explore new offshore O&G reserves and obtain more accurate data on existing reserves.
Bapco refines over 260,000 barrels of crude daily, about one-sixth of which originates from Bahrain Field. The remainder is pumped from Saudi Arabia in pipelines extending 27 kms. over land and a further 27 kms under sea.
Bapco has more than 170 storage tanks at different sites, with a total capacity of over 14 million barrels.
Bapco exports crude to world markets and sells petroleum products locally and internationally. It also supplies aviation fuel at the Bahrain International Airport through the Bahrain Aviation Fuelling Company (BAFCO), and provides natural gas to power plants and other industries in Bahrain.
