Bapco participated in the Fourth National Occupational Safety & Health Conference & Exhibition, which was opened by Deputy Prime Minister HE Shaikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa at the Gulf Hotel Convention & Spa on 25th April 2018. The two-day event was held under the theme 'Innovative Approaches in Occupational Safety and Health'. It gathered experts from across the region to discuss various issues relating to the labour and health sectors. Present were Labour & Social Development Minister HE Jameel Humaidan, Under-Secretary HE Sabah Al Doseri, Electricity and Water Affairs Minister HE Dr Abdulhussain Mirza and other government officials. Deputy Prime Minister HE Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa described Bahrain's strides in boosting occupational safety as a cornerstone in the Kingdom's development march. "Joining the world through the organisation of this key event reflects Bahrain's celebration of its achievements in this respect and the care given to the workers", he said. The Deputy Premier said setting up of the Occupational Safety & Health Council is the dividend of the efforts made in carrying out the general policy in this respect. HE Shaikh Khalid added that the large-scale participation in the event consolidated kingdom's status as a major host of specialised conferences and exhibitions. The Deputy Prime Minister honoured the sponsoring companies of the conference. Bapco participated in this major event with a key stand showcasing its ongoing initiatives aimed at fostering the vocational health and safety culture inside the company and the country. General Manager Maintenance Division Mr. Mahmood Mirza represented Bapco during the event. He received the sponsorship award on behalf of Bapco at the conclusion of the event.
